American Pet Alffy™ Rabbit Pellet provides more calories, higher protein and fiber to support the growing and extra nutritional needs of junior, growing or breeding rabbits. The fresh green AP Alfalfa Hay in the fortified pellets always keep your rabbit’s digestive system in tip top shape. The AP great tasting hay gives it a naturally fresh, rich aroma, making it delicious and superior tasting. The pellets are also smaller for ease of eating.
The fibre content of many concentrate diets can be as low as 13 - 14%, while rabbits need a dietary intake of at least 25% fibre. As such, additional amounts of long-strand fresh and green Alfalfa Hay are added to Alffy™ Rabbit Pellet to displace high calories often found in many conventional brands that are made with a high amount of cereals. at least 50% of the fortified pellets are made of AP fresh Alfalfa Hay. The great tasting hay rich in fibre, protein, and calories mimic rabbit’s natural diet in the wild and ensures proper digestive health for rabbit’s that do not eat enough loose hay or less than 50% of the diet is hay by weight.
AP fresh Alfalfa Hay is very bushy with lodes of supple leaves on the stem, combining this Hay as essential dietary fibre to fortified pellets encourages natural synergy in the gut motility and nutrients absorption rate, which in turn produces natural prebiotics that help probiotics flourish inside the intestines, eliminating pathogenic bacteria in the process. It also steers clear of G.I, protects against build up of hairballs in the gut and enteritis.
Alffy™ Rabbit Pellet also has added vitamins and minerals. The stabilised Vitamin C completes your rabbit’s daily nutritional needs, preventing teeth and gum problems. And contains Yucca which protects against build up leading to hairballs and helps control habitat odour for a more pleasant-smelling home.
